100% DIY Camera Bag

A small camera bag 100% DIY. For me it took like 6 hours in total.

Supplies

Scissors

Sewing needle (for sewing by hand if needed)

Sweing machine

Inner fabric (0.25m2)

Outer waterproof fabric (0.25m2)

Strap (max 0.35cm)

Plastic strap bucle

Padding foam 3mm (or more if you want)

Measure the Pieces According to Your Camera

I measured the fabric pieces according to my cameras size. Add an extra 2cm or more depending on your padding thickness for sewing and lining. Feel free to experiment with you own designs.

My camera is: Canon Powershot S5 IS so for me the pieces were (with added 2cm):

2x (10cm x 14cm),

2x (10cm x 11cm),

1x (14cm x 11cm)

and the flap top is a 11 x 14 rectangle with a 6cm addition to the 14 cm side that has rounded edges and is supposed to go over the edge when closing the bag.

Cut the Fabric and Foam Pieces According to the Masurements

Cut the fabric and foam pieces according to the measurements. Initially I cut the foam out the same size as the fabric and then cut away the extra 1-2cm.

Sew the Pieces Into Pads

For every piece sew 3 sides, insert the foam and sew the last side shut.

Connect the Pads

Sew the sides of the pads together so the bag would be inside out. This video helps with this part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7UenpFYC0E

Make sure to sew any accessories onto the side pads before sewing all the sides shut.

Trim any loose ends and that's it.
