2D Wood Bird Art

Hi! I am going to make a 2d bird that my grandpa showed me how to make. It is a good starting place to get ready for woodworks and to get ready for harder projects, but it is still a bit precise and comes in pieces you need to glue together and in in the end it looks fantastic.
Supplies
You will need:
- different color wood
- band saw
- wood glue
- pencil
- paper
- sand paper
- fine sawdust
- varnish
- paint brush
- bead: dark blue or black bead recommended, but it's your choice
Tips
Before you start I will tell you what I learned, first of all use softwood so its easy to cut using hard wood can make you blade break faster.
Draw two pieces of paper one for tracing on wood and the other to assemble the piece on so you can put them were they belong.
Now let's start.
Drawing the Bird
On the paper, draw a simple outline of bird parts. Draw it like the picture, and cut out the paper parts so you can trace
keep the part they will be needed
Picture will be below.
Tracing

Using the drawing you have made, trace each part of the body on pieces of wood. I would recommend each piece of wood should be a different color to make it look better.
Picture will be below.
Cutting

Cut out each of the parts that you traced with a bandsaw, and put them together to make sure you do not lose the parts.
Recommended But Optional. Wing Detail
If you want to make the detail on the wing, draw the line shown in the image below, then cut out each part and make sure you know where each part goes. Later you will glue them back on together
Sanding

Now sand,If you have a sander or a Dremel use it. If not, just use sand paper and rub the sand paper on its rough side. Sand the sides so they will fit then rub each of the wood birds sides till the sides are smooth. if you want after you use a sander or Dremel finish it with sand paper for I find it better after I use the Dremel and sander.
Gluing

Now get the wood glue, and glue the side, you are going to connect them using the drawing, put the glue on the bottom of the side like this, showing in the picture below.
wait and do it again.Glue all you piece in the way that they are in the drawing.
Eye

Drill a hole between the top of the head and main part of the head. Put the bead in the hole with the bead hole facing at the sky.
Sawdust and Varnish
Fill the crack with saw dust then blow or rub all the extra off make sure no extra dust, after you do that varnish it. Wait till it drys. After it drys, make sure there's no bumps on it. Use sandpaper to get rid of the bumps, then add a second layer.
