3d Printed Koala
I 3d designed a cute koala and I choose this because koalas in my opinion and even many others' have always been one of the cutest animals, especially when they're asleep. I hope everyone can have a 3d printed koala of their own to keep around whenever they feel down.
Supplies
The only supplies that you'll really need is a 3d printer with similar specs of the bamboos H2d-1 model.
Reference Planes
I will begin explaining the different reference planes that are used in this project. For Plane 1, the first reference should be the front plane with the distance being 0.10 inches. For Plane 2, the first reference should also be the front plane with the distance being 0.48 inches. For Plane 3, the first reference should be the right plane with a distance of 0.36 inches. For Plane 4, the first reference should be the right plane with a distance of 0.42 inches.
Koala Head: Sketch
I will first begin explaining how to design the koala head. To begin, start the sketch on the right plane. Draw a vertical centerline and then draw a normal line of 1 inch with the midpoint at the origin. Then draw an arc with the center coincident with the origin. Dimension the origin and the top of the arc to .50 inches.
Koala Head: Revolve
After the sketch is finished, revolve the sketch along the centerline.
Koala Nose: Sketch
I will now explain the sketch for the koala nose. First, begin sketching on reference plane 2. Draw a horizontal centerline and distance it below the origin by .05 inches. Sketch another line and make it colinear with the centerline while having the length at 0.18 inches. sketch a 3-point arc with a radius of 0.10 inches and dimension the center of the arc below the origin by .02 inches.
Koala Nose: Revolve
After the sketch is finished, revolve the sketch by the horizontal centerline.
Koala Ears: Sketch
First sketch on Plane 1 and then sketch a circle on the origin with a diameter of 0.65 inches. Then draw two centerlines going horizontal and diagonal. Make the angle dimension of the centerlines 30 degrees. Then sketch an arc with a radius of 0.30 inches and make it connect to the end of the first diagonal centerline. Draw a second centerline that is also diagonal and connects to the arc. After that follow the rest of the dimensions shown in the image attached.
Koala Ears: Revolve
Revolve it across the second diagonal centerline. Make the direction away from the nose and make it 15 degrees.
Koala Ears: Mirror
Mirror the revolve across the right plane.
Koala Eyes: Sketch
Begin the sketch on Plane 2 and then sketch this exact shape with all the dimensions shown in the image attached.
Koala Eyes: Cut-extrude
After the sketch is finished, select the end condition "Blind" and make it 0.20 inches in both directions.
Koala Eyes: Mirror
Mirror the Cut-Extrude across the right plane
Koala Body: Sketch
Begin sketching on the front plane and then sketch the exact shape with the dimensions in the image attached.
Koala Body: Revolve
Revolve the sketch along the centerline that is along the origin.
Koala Arm 1.1: Sketch
First, sketch on Plane 3, and then sketch the exact shape with the dimensions in the image attached.
Koala Arm 1.1: Revolve
Revolve the sketch along the vertical centerline with 90 degrees.
Koala Arm 1.2: Sketch
Sketch on the end of the revolve and then sketch the exact shape with the dimensions in the image attached.
Koala Arm 1.2: Boss-Extrude
Extrude it "Blind" 0.80 inches.
Second Koala Arm: Mirror
Mirror both the Revolve and the Boss-Extrude across the right plane.
Koala Leg 1.1: Sketch
Begin sketching on Plane 4 and then sketch the exact shape with the dimensions in the image attached.
Koala Leg 1.1: Revolve
Revolve the sketch along the vertical centerline sketched with 90 degrees.
Koala Leg 1.2: Sketch
Begin the sketch on the end of the Revolve and draw a circle concentric with the revolve.
Koala Leg 1.2: Boss-extrude
Extrude it "Blind" and make it 0.90 inches.
Second Koala Leg: Mirror
Mirror both the Revolve and the Boss-Extrude across the right plane.
Fillets
Add fillets on every arm and leg and make it 0.10 inches.
Flat Bottom to Stand: Sketch
Begin the sketch on the front plane and then sketch the exact shape with the dimensions in the image attached.
Flat Bottom to Stand: Cut-extrude
Finally Cut-Extrude it with the end condition "through all" going in both directions.
