Altoids Tin Map Holder

I figured I'd make a map holder for an Altoids tin guitar to give it a backpacking purpose.

Supplies

  1. an Altoids tin
  2. duct tape
  3. a home printed map (color worked best)
  4. a Sharpie
  5. a pair of scissors
  6. a pencil
  7. A Ziploc bag

Add Cut Ziploc Bag and Tape

Cut Ziploc bag in the shape in the first image (minus the zipper lock), then add tape as shown in the second image.

Trace Tin and Cut Map

Trace the tin and and cut map to fit when folded by making the fragments a bit larger, but not too large. You need to keep the total thickness of the folded fragments within a limit. (Above: the west edge fragment.)

Label Fragments

I labeled mine by the number in the white circles on the map. When it wasn't present, I added a fraction (in this case, 2/3) to the whole number before it.
