Arduino Laser-Tag Battery Charger Module (Part.6 of 8)
Here is the Stage.6 on building up the battery charger module. Kits is also available in 6 way version.
New Design laser tag charger cable with 8 pin Din plug connectors output voltage: 7.4V, output.
【Circuit Protection】: Smart battery charger, with battery short circuit, reverse
connection protection, and circuit protection. Intelligent IC circuit control, charges
the battery in turns and automatically stops charging when the charging voltage
reaches the set value.
【Plug and Play】:
Mains charger, DC 5V powered, by DC 5V 3A mains power pack.
Now you can build your own high -tech laser-tag system using Arduino, bringing the futuristic thrill of laser-tag Innovations kits - directly to you. This laser-tag system is a fully functional laser-tag set in kit-form, allowing you to build your own arena and gear.
The complete kit comes with all parts includes the following items (front, back, Phaser Gun parts and Shoulders 3D case, all Resistors, Transistors, I/R receiver diodes, I/R Tx diodes, Laser, Battery Charger, Cable and Body vest with cable and fixing plates attached for you. (plug & play)
Build your own DIY Laser-tag system “Great fun” Ideal for schools, clubs, and hobbyists

BATTERY CHARGER KIT PARTS ONLY - (6 way)
DESCRIPTION QTY
Charger PCBs modules ----------------------------- x 3 (Can charger up to 6 laser packs at a time)
Charger Case for 6 ----------------------------------- 1
Charger lead and plug (pre wired) ------------------ 3
Cable Glands ---------------------------------------- 3
Mains power pack ----------------------------------- 1
Case M3 Screws ------------------------------------- 2
Insert Cable Glands
Insert the cable gland through the case holes ( See photos) Now once everything is done and check and all ok then plug in the mains power adaptor and all Red LED lights should be lit on all PCBs if not Un-plug power "Immediately" and check wiring.
- Wiring to PCB
Feed the pre-wired cable through the cable gland from the outside. Next solder the 3 wires from the cable to the copper strips on the PCB. NOTE: make sure you solder wires to the correct strips other you will destroy the PCB IC charging chip. Colour code is Black = Gnd / Red = +VE / White = Batt Bal. (See photo)
- Wiring Power Socket
Insert the power supply 2.5mm socket through the casing hole, then solder the power supply wires to each PCB in parallel. Red wire is positive and Black wire is Ground then connect up to the DC power socket. (See photos)
Apply glue to the DC socket to secure it.
- Mounting PCBs Inside Case
Note: Do step.7 before this stage.
After all boards are wire up and tested then apply a small amount of glue to each board to secure them.
- Attach Bottom to Case
Fit the bottom base plate in place then screw down with the M3 screws supply with the kit.
- Testing Stage
Check all wiring before plugging in the DC power supply. If all ok then connect up the power supply and check out the LED lights
【Indicator LED Lights】:
The charger has LED indicator lights; the Red lights are on when the power is connected and no load is on; the Red light is on and the Green or Blue light is flashing when charging. Once fully charged, the Red light and Green or Blue lights are on at the same time.
