I made this project for Muslims who needs to keep track of how much they prayed et cetera.

Supplies

1) Arduino Uno & USB-B to USB-A cable
2) 3 push buttons
3) 1 large breadboard
4) 3 10K resistors
5) 8 M-M jumpers
6) 4 M-F jumpers
7) A PC or a laptop
8) 16x2 I2C LCD
Plug in Your IIC LCD to Your Uno.

Plug the connections like GND to GND, VCC to VCC et cetera.
Connect Your Buttons to the Breadboard

You can attach your buttons to the breadboard wherever you want.
Connect Your 10k Resistors to the Breadboard

Connect them series with ground and the buttons output line NOT THE VCC LINE.
Connect the Buttons to Your UNO

1st button's signal goes to 2
2nd button's signal goes to 3
3rd and the last button's signal goes to 4
Begin Programming

Download and compile the .INO file and make sure it's in a file.
