Banana Nut French Toast

If you have leftover banana nut bread, pound cake, or other sliceable dense sweet bread, this is the recipe for you! It’s a creative way to make a delicious breakfast dish AND use up those partial loaves of bread. This unique and tasty breakfast will get rave reviews!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons heavy cream
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
2 slices banana nut bread (3/4-inch thick)
Powdered sugar for dusting
Maple pancake syrup for serving

10-inch non-stick skillet
Small mixing bowl

Melt Butter
1. Melt butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat.
Mix Ingredients
2. In a small mixing bowl whisk together egg, milk, cream, extract, cinnamon and salt. Pour into pie plate.
Soak Bread
3. Place bread slices in egg mixture, allowing to soak for 5 seconds then turn over and soak an additional 5 seconds, being careful not to oversoak.
Cook Bread
4. Place quickly in skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown, turning once.
Serve
5. Remove to serving plates and dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with syrup. Serves 2. Enjoy!
