Boat House

When we first saw this project we decided we wanted to make a tiny house, but we wanted our tiny house to be different from other so we made a boat house.

Research

Firstly, we wanted some inspiration so we looked at boat houses online. With our newfound inspiration we then began sketching!

Planning

We sketched our design, and gathered all the material we would need to make our project.

Making the Base

Next, we got all our materials and began measuring out two pieces of wood. Then, we cut these two pieces of wood to the length we wanted and glued then together to make our base.

Making the First Floor

After our base was made we began making the walls for our first floor by measuring the angle we wanted and cutting the wood to the right shape. Next, we cut out the windows for out wall to make give it the look we wanted. After that, we took another piece of wood and cut it into two pieces that aligned with the walls for design and support. Finally, we cut a piece of wood into rectangles to make the stairs to prepare for the second floor.

Making the Second Floor

To start the second floor we measured and cut up pieces of wood to make the floor. We then glued the pieces in and began cutting the wood to make the railing for the second floor. After we had glued the railings in we began making the room at the top of the stairs. To make this we cut up 3 pieces of wood to make the malls around it and then cut one piece shorter so that there would be access to top of the boat. Lastly, we cut up our last piece of wood and made stairs off the back for access to the water.

Making It Float

At last, all that was left was for us to make it float. So, to make it float we took a bug piece of foam and cut it to the size and shape of the bottom of out boat so that it could float in the water.

Testing

Now that we had finished our project all that was left to do was to test it, so we filled up a tub of water, put it in, and watched it float.
