Brownie 🍫 – a Super Chocolaty and Easy Cake

We made Brownies — the legendary chocolate cake invented back in the 19th century in Chicago. It’s hard to imagine a dessert with a richer and more intense chocolate flavor 🍫. The perfect treat for true chocolate lovers 🤎!

This is an easy cake recipe, especially if you have little helpers like mine! You can watch the cute little chefs at work via the link 👉 https://youtu.be/xEPZ-w43FnU

Supplies

Dark chocolate — 180 g (about 6.3 oz)

Butter — 160 g (about ⅔ cup or 5.6 oz)

Eggs — 3

Flour — 100 g (about ¾ cup)

Sugar — 100 g (about ½ cup)

Salt — ¼ tsp

Place the chocolate in a saucepan that you will later use to heat it on the stove. If you have a chocolate bar, it’s best to break it into pieces. You can even sneak a piece or two while preparing 🙂

Cut the butter into slices and add it to the chocolate in the saucepan.

Place the saucepan on the stove over low heat. Stir constantly with a spatula until the butter is completely melted into the chocolate and the mixture becomes smooth and liquid

While the chocolate and butter cool slightly (but don’t wait too long — they should remain liquid), crack the eggs into a large bowl and add the sugar and salt.

Mix well with a hand mixer. There’s no need to whisk or beat vigorously.

Carefully (so the eggs don’t cook), pour the chocolate and butter mixture into the eggs with sugar and salt, preferably in small amounts at a time.

Add the sifted flour

Mix until it becomes smooth and uniform

Pour the batter onto a baking tray lined with foil and lightly greased with sunflower oil. Spread it evenly.

Bake in the oven at 180°C (about 350°F). Be careful not to overbake. You want to catch the moment when the brownie is still soft inside, but a crust has formed on the outside. It’s best to check periodically with a skewer to test for doneness.

The first time I tried this with the kids, we didn’t quite catch that perfect moment. But it was very delicious anyway.

Serve the brownies warm, or let them cool in the fridge. They’re also delicious with ice cream :)

Enjoy your meal! Share in the comments if you managed to catch the perfect moment to take the brownies out of the oven.
