I wanted to add some more decoration to the cookie tray and thought that these would be a beautiful edible addition. I originally wanted to do white Hershey Kisses as the bottom but because we live in the country and they are difficult to find (even when they are available). I decided to go for the traditional peanut butter and chocolate combo.
Items I used:
Peanut Butter
Egg
Sugar
Vanilla
Hershey Kisses
Chocolate Chips
Almond Bark
Bowls
Pan
Mixer
Parchment Paper
Knife
Fork
Microwave
Oven

The Peanut Butter recipe I used for the cookies is flourless and very simple. I figured since I was using such a small cookie that the strong peanut butter flavor would be a good idea.
Before I started my cookies, I went ahead and turned my oven on to 350.
Recipe for the Peanut Butter Cookies:
1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Tsp of Vanilla
Combine the ingredients above and mix using the mixer.

It didn't take too much cookie dough to make the cookies. I rolled the cookie dough into about 3/8" balls and placed them on a piece of parchment paper in a pan. Then I used a fork to make the typical peanut butter cookie design. After placing them in the oven, they took around 5 minutes to cook and then I removed them from the oven to cool.

I heated up almond bark in a bowl with the microwave. It was easier to apply the chocolate chip to the cookie first. I used a knife and applied a little bit of almond bark to the back of the chocolate chip and then stuck the chocolate chip to the top of the cookie. Then I let almond bark dry so the chocolate chip would not fall off.
Once dry, I unwrapped the hershey kisses and applied the almond bark to the hershey kiss. Then I attached the hershey kiss to the bottom side of the cookie. Just a note, watch how much almond bark you apply because the kiss will slide off of the cookie. I had to go back and adjust a few before they dried. I let the almond bark dry and my Chocolate Acorns were ready for the cookie tray.
Hope you Enjoy!
