Heat Up That Oven

Before you start adding ingredients to your bowl, preheat your oven to 325°C for a fudgy texture or 350°C for a fluffy and cake like texture.

The Sweet Step

Cut 1/2 cup of butter using the measurement lines provided on the packaging of the butter. Make sure there is no tin foil on your butter before you put it in the microwave. Melt the butter at 1:30 min in your microwave. In your mixing bowl pour the warm butter over 1 cup of sugar and mix well until blended.

Add That Chocolatey Goodness

Add 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa to your bowl and mix well. Careful this step can get messy!

Add 2 eggs to your mixing bowl, mix and don't stop until thoroughly blended. There Shouldn't be any visible egg! Once the eggs are blended add 1/4 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of vanilla. Mix really well! (A little extra vanilla doesn't hurt!)

Don't Be Sour Add the Flour

Add 1/2 cup of all purpose flour to your mixing bowl. For a more fluffy texture add one full cup of flour. Mix well, there should be no visible flour in the batter. Try to get the flour from the sides of the bowl as best as you can. Stir with the mixing spoon until any lumps are gone and the batter is smooth. If the batter looks to dry add a little bit of water. After this step you can add chocolate chips if desired.

When in Doubt Grease It Out!

Cut a little cube of butter and grease the pan by spreading the butter on the glass pan. Make sure the pan is thoroughly greased. Add the batter with a spoon and a spatula. Use the spatula to scrape the batter out of your mixing bowl and to spread the batter evenly in a square motion. Then even out the batter and smooth it over with the spatula.

Bake 'em

Bake your brownies for 27-28 min depending on your oven. I put mine in for 28 minutes. When the timer goes off, take your brownies out off the oven. You can tell if your brownies are ready by sticking a skewer or toothpick in the middle and on the corners, if the toothpick comes out clean your brownies are done. If it comes with batter on it or with lots of crumbs put it back in the oven for another minute. Place them on a cooling rack or let them sit for 10-12 minutes after they are out of the oven. Enjoy!

My Reflection

I had a lot of fun baking these brownies, and I learned some things along the way! After I put my first batch of brownies in the oven I realized I added 1 cup of flour instead of 1/2 a cup! But the brownies turned out fluffier that way and the extra flour improved them! I had other mini adventures too, like finding a rotten egg (Don't worry I threw it out!). These two batches of brownies turned out really well! I really enjoy baking and I think you will too! Thank you!
