Based on the facebot designed by Kevin McAleer, the ClockBot is a charming, affordable, and easy-to-build desktop robot that retrieves the current time from the internet and scrolls it across its display along with some animations.

Supplies

Parts needed:

  1. Raspberry Pi Pico W with headers
  2. HT16K33 KeyStudio 8x8 LED Matrix Display with driver
  3. Dupont wires
  4. 2x M5 Screws


Tools needed:

3D printed (or 3D printing service)

Print the Parts

Print the body, left and right leg.

Connect the Parts

Connect the display to the raspberry pi as follows:

+ ---- VCC
- ---- GND
Data ---- GPIO00
Clock ---- GPIO01
