DIY Comic Book Display

Since childhood I am a fan of Kuifje; a comic from a Belgium artist Hergé.

I really think these albums are a form of art so I was thinking about displaying them.

Here you see the main design.

I wanted to see almost nothing from the “shelves”, just the fronts of the albums. So the shelves needed to be very small.

I was looking for a j-shaped profile but could nog find anything. So I decideed to built it myself using wood.

I used a wooden slat 18mm x 44mm to attach to the wall, glued a thin slat 90 degrees below that and put a wooden decorative trim on top of that i order to keep the comics from sliding off.

There it is. Simple and cheap DIY comic display.

Every time I walk by, I get inspired by them.
