In this modern society, certain products in stores and in online shops can be quite expensive and can bring a lot of negative effects on your bank account. This is a big problem for individuals all over the world, however, it is more prominent in people of lower income or just people with spending problems. Instead of spending their money on wants, more money needs to be allocated towards necessities that can actually bring a positive effect on one’s life. For this project, my desired outcome is to design and create a more cost effective approach to obtaining a household item, rather than going out and spending a lot of money on it.

To start this project, you are going to first need to collect all of your materials. This allows you to effectively and efficiently complete the following various tasks that will lead up to the completion of the cookie stand.

On a plank of wood with dimensions of at least 30''x40'', use a stencil to create two circles; one with a diameter of 18'' and another with a diameter of 12''. Then, using a bandsaw, cut out both circles as accurately as possible. You will then use a sander to fine down the outer rim of each circle.

The next step will be to connect the two circles together to start forming the cake stand. Using a ruler, draw lines across the diameter of the circle to find the exact middle of both circles. Aside from the circles, grab a new block of wood and shape it to the dimensions: 2"x2"x7". This will be the piece in between the two circles. Two connect the pieces, grab 2 3 inch screws and drill them into the center of each circle and into each end of the newly created block.

Next, we will add support pieces to the bottom of the project. You will need to create 4 blocks with dimensions of 1"x1"x6.5". These will be placed underneath the display on outer rim, equidistant from one another. You will attach these pieces using wood glue and clamps.

For the final necessary step in completing this project, you will need to create 4 1"x1"x8" blocks to be used as dividers of the 4 sections of the bottom layer of the display. These will be connect using glue and clamps, and will be perpendicular to the center block holding up the second layers and the support block that is underneath the display. To provide a better look to the project, use a sander to round the edge of the block that is facing away from the project.

Final, if you have time and want to make your project a bit more visual pleasing, take your favorite color of spray paint and coat your project with 2 layers of spray paint.
