Cool Stool That Rules
I made a stool because my mom wanted a stool to help reach things. Then I got a project at school where I had to make an instructable so I decided to make the stool for my instructable. We had all the supplies to make a stool. My dad helped out too because he's made stuff like this before. He did the sawing for safety reasons, because I'm a kid.
Supplies
- Wood
- Table saw
- Measuring tape
- Speed square
- Drill bit
- Drill
- Carpenter glue
- Palm sander
- Carpenter pencil
- Skill saw
- 220 grit Sanding block
- 8 Dowels
- Stain
- F clamp
- Vice
- Paintbrush
Cuting
First pick the dimensions you want I did 14” w by 7” L by 6” T but you can do whatever dimensions you want mark out where you have to cut on the wood with the carpenter pencil use the skill saw to cut the piece into about the right size then use the table saw to cut them into the exact size you need there will be four pieces one for the top two legs and One support in the middle it will look like a I from the bottom I set the legs in half inch inside but you can do however much you like or even none at all. I also made the support beam in the middle not go all the way to the ground once again that is personal preference.
Sanding
Sand all the wood that will be showing. Don't bother sanding the other parts to save yourself some work.
Putting It Together
Then get the dowels and a drill. Use a drill bit that matches the size of the dowels you have. Drill holes in the Piece. Make matching holes on the joining piece. You should only need 8 dowels. Cover the dowels with glue and stick them in the holes and attach the other pieces of wood to make a stool.
Fnishing
Sand the stool a little bit more with a sanding block around 220 grit to make sure it is nice and smooth. Then get some stain (whatever color stain you like most) and put it on the stool with a paintbrush and let it dry.
Done
In conclusion if you need a stool this is a good stool to make because it is easy to make and it's sturdy.
