Crafting Chic Fabric Bowls: Stylish Storage Made Simple!

If you're anything like me, you love reusing fabric, whether it's fabric squares or scraps. You probably have a collection of fabric just waiting to be transformed into something beautiful. Today, we're going to turn those scraps into charming fabric bowls. These bowls are ideal for storing jewelry, craft supplies, or simply adding a pop of color to your space. This project is straightforward to complete and offers significant rewards, making it an excellent way to repurpose leftover materials.

1. 1 large glass jar
2. 1 small glass jar
3. Plastic wrap or plastic cling (I used cling wrap because it stays in place).
4. Mod Podge
5. 1 paintbrush
6. Fabric scraps
7. Scissors
8. Embellishments (like mini florals, buttons, or lace—get creative!)

Turn your jar upside down so the bottom is facing up. Cover it with plastic wrap—cling wrap hugs the jar nicely and keeps things from slipping while you work.

Cut your fabric scraps into manageable shapes. They don’t need to be perfect! You’ll trim excess as you go.

Using your paintbrush, apply a generous coat of Mod Podge directly over the plastic wrap.

Start layering your fabric pieces over the Mod Podge, gently pressing them into the contours of the jar. As you build, you’ll form the shape of the bowl. Add Mod Podge over the fabric. Remove any fabric that hangs too far down the sides—it’ll give your bowl a clean edge.

Once you’ve completed your larger bowl, set it aside to dry. Then repeat the steps using your smaller jar and another set of fabric scraps.

Once fully dry, carefully lift the plastic wrap off the jars—your fabric bowls should release easily. Peel away the plastic from inside the fabric bowl and reveal your new creation.

💡 Tip: Let your bowls dry completely overnight for optimal results. I used a heating tool while filming my tutorial for a quicker turnaround, but patience pays off!

Use scissors to neaten the top edge. This is where you can get creative: I added flower embellishments—bright blooms on the large bowl and dainty white flowers on the small one. The result is two sweet, textured storage bowls you’ll want to show off!
