Lengths of 50mm drainpipe, 4 x 50mm T-Pieces, 2 x 50mm 45 degree elbows one should have the opening cap as per the photo, 2 x 50mm 90 degree elbows, shade cloth with nylon lacing, plumbers glue and a small amount of concrete mix.

Fit and glue the 2 100mm pieces into two of the T-Pieces.

Join these 2 T-Pieces with one of the 185mm sections and then using 2 of the 50mm sections on the ends glue 2 of the end caps. Using the concrete mix put some into this section and allow it to set standing upright. This will act as a counterweight to stop the device being blown out of the pool in high winds.

Glue the other 2 T-Pieces as shown.

Join the 90 and 45 degree elbows using 2 50mm sections.

Now connect the other sections so that you end up with the complete frame as per the last photo.

Final Assembly

Cut the shade cloth to fit around the two "arms" with enough overlap to lace it using the nylon string.

Cut a small hole in the shade cloth to accommodate the opening cap.

You can use some of the plumbing glue to glue the shade cloth more firmly to the frame.

Deployment

With the heavy concrete filled part on the edge drop the other end into the pool. If it floats too high open the cap and pour in water until the end of the shade cloth is just below the surface.
