Crochet Amigurumi Snake Plush

While most people have a fear of snakes, I find them quite cute. So when I learned how to crochet, I wanted to make an amigurumi snake. However, when I looked for patterns none of them caught my eye so I decided to make a pattern myself! This is my first documented pattern and it's very customizable. So here's the pattern, a crochet amigurumi snake, perfect to lay on your bed or wherever you want.
Supplies

For this project you'll need:
- A crochet hook (I used an I/9 5.5mm hook)
- Yarn that fits the crochet hook size (I used Red Ribbon yarn)
- Stuffing
- Stitch markers (Bobby pins and hoop earrings also work as stitch markers if you don't have enough actual ones!)
Optional if you want to give your snake a face!
- Black yarn
- Yarn needle
Abbreviations - These are US terms
Mc = Magic Circle
Sc = Single crochet
Inc = Single crochet increase (make 2 sc in one stitch)
Invidec = Invisible single crochet decrease (insert hook into back loops only of the next 2 stitches, yarn over and pull through leaving 2 loops on your hook, then yarn over and pull through all loops)
Sl st = Slip stitch
*...* = Repeat the stitches in between the * *
(#) = Amount stitches you should have after a round
The Head

Make a magic circle
Round 1: 4sc into mc (4) Make sure to put a stitch marker in the first stitch for the rest of the project.
Round 2: *sc, inc* x2 (6)
Round 3: *2sc, inc* x2 (8)
Round 4: inc around (16)
Round 5: sc around (16)
Round 6: *2sc, 2invidec, 2sc* x2 (12)
Round 7: sc around (12)
Round 8: *2sc, invidec, 2sc* x2 (10)
Round 9: sc around (10)
Stuff the head with stuffing, make sure to start stuffing as you go now.
Round 10: 2sc, invidec, 6sc (9)
Round 11: sc around (9)
Round 12: 4sc, inc, 4sc (10)

Rounds 13 - 32 (20 rounds): sc around (10)
This number of rounds is really a suggestion to make a decently long snake, but if you want it to be longer, just crochet more rows in this section. Remember to keep stuffing as you go!
Round 33: 4sc, invidec, 4sc (9)
Rounds 34 - 43 (10 rounds): sc around (9)
Round 44: 3sc, invidec, 4sc (8)
The Tail

Round 45: sc around (8)
Round 46: 3sc, invidec, 3sc (7)
Round 47: sc around (7)
Round 48: 2sc, invidec, 3sc (6)
Round 49: sc around (6)
Sl st into the next stitch and finish.
The Face

Now that you have a finished snake, you can leave it as is or give it a face like I did! To do this you'll need a yarn needle and black yarn or whatever color you want the snake's face to be.
Thread your needle with yarn.
Insert the needle between rounds 3&4 and have it come out between rounds 4&5.
Go back through the same spot where you first inserted your needle and repeat that process until your snake has a cute round eye.
To make the second eye, do the exact same thing 5 stitches away from the first eye.
And voila! You now have your own crochet amigurumi snake!
