Whenever the holiday season arrives, I’m instantly reminded of cozy winter mornings and the warmth of my grandmother’s home. As a child, I would rush to her house to play around the Christmas tree, the twinkling lights, the ornaments, and the cozy wintery vibe filling my heart with joy. Those memories of laughter, warmth, and family traditions have always stayed with me.

As I started I always wanted to capture that same feeling in a handmade piece — a Christmas tree that isn’t just a decoration, but a reflection of those nostalgic, heartwarming moments. That’s why I crocheted a six-layered Christmas tree house, with a tree-house-inspired trunk made from brown yarn and a collection of festive decorations like a star, a red bow, bells, and charms.

This project is more than just a crochet pattern — it’s a cozy reminder of the love and warmth of family during the holiday season. Every stitch carries a memory, and every layer brings the spirit of those cherished winter holidays to life.

Tree house base

Your tree house trunk is already prepared with the door and windows. Place it upright on a flat surface. You may either leave it hollow (to use as a small candy box, gift holder, or decorative container) or lightly stuff it for stability and a more solid sculptural look, depending on your preference.

Attach all tree layers

Place all six tree layers (largest to smallest, dark → medium → light) on top of the tree house. Sew through the center of all layers at once to secure them. Slightly pinch or gather edges for a fuller, dimensional look.

Attach the star

Take your two back-to-back stars and sew them to the top of the smallest layer.

Attach the bow

Place the red bow just below the star or at the front of the top layer and secure with a small yarn wrap or stitch.

Carefully embellish the tree layers with colorful tiny ball charms and silver pearl beads to create festive ornaments. Arrange them evenly or in small clusters, making sure each charm and bead is securely stitched for durability and a polished finish.

Usage:

• Place on a table, shelf, mantel, or holiday centerpiece.

• Use as a festive decoration to brighten up any space.

• Position near garlands, lights, or candles for added charm.

• Showcase the colorful charms and silver pearls for a cheerful holiday touch.

• Keep hollow the tree house to store small candies, treats, or miniature gifts.
