Make quick work of the garnishes for your next cocktail party! This is how professional bartenders prepare the lemons and limes for your favourite bar rail drinks.

Gather your materials. You'll need:

  • cutting board
  • sharp pairing knife
  • limes or lemons (washed)

Cut down the center of each half part way. This split will let you rest the lime on the edge of a glass.

Slice

Cut each lime half into thin slices. You're done!

Put the slices in a bowl where they will be close at hand while you are mixing drinks.

Like any good bartender, make sure you do this prep work before your guests arrive. Fresh is always better, but if you won't have time right before your party, cut the limes in advance and store them in an airtight container in the fridge.
