Cardboard Cutouts

First, draw the duck design on cardboard and carefully cut out the required shapes. Prepare separate cardboard cutouts for the duck’s head, body, and other parts needed to create the spectacles holder. Make sure all the pieces are cut neatly according to the outline, as these will form the base of our cute DIY spectacles holder.

In this step, take a plain white sheet and place each cardboard cutout on it one by one. Carefully trace around the edges of every cutout using a pencil to create the same outlines on the white paper. Make sure to hold the cardboard pieces firmly while tracing so that the shapes do not move and the outlines remain neat and accurate.

Repeat this process for all the required cardboard pieces, ensuring that every part of the duck design is traced properly. Pay attention to the edges and curves so that the traced outlines match the cardboard cutouts as closely as possible. These outlines will help us paint the different parts of our cute duck design in the next stage. The white paper provides a clean surface for adding colors and details, helping us achieve a bright, smooth, and attractive finish for our DIY spectacles holder.

Colouring the Duck Design

Now it's time to bring our cute duck design to life with bright and beautiful colours. Use yellow paint for the duck's body, orange for its beak and feet, and other suitable colours for the remaining details.

Carefully apply the paint within the traced outlines using a paintbrush to achieve a neat and smooth finish. Use a smaller brush for the detailed areas and make sure the colours are spread evenly. Once the colouring is complete, allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Cutting the Coloured Peices

Once the paint has dried completely, carefully cut out each coloured piece along its outline using scissors. Take your time while cutting around the edges and curves to ensure that every piece has a neat and clean shape.

Make sure to cut all the required parts properly so they fit the cardboard cutouts. These coloured pieces will be used to cover the cardboard and give our cute duck spectacles holder a bright and attractive look.

Once all the coloured pieces are completely dry, apply glue to the cardboard cutouts and carefully paste the matching coloured paper pieces onto them. Align the edges properly to ensure that the paper covers the cardboard neatly without any gaps or wrinkles.

After pasting all the pieces, take a black sketch marker and carefully draw the boundaries around the duck's body and other parts. This will make the shapes more defined and enhance the cute cartoon-like appearance of our spectacles holder. Allow the glue to dry properly before moving on to the next step.

Assembling the Cutouts Altogether

In this step, carefully arrange all the prepared cardboard cutouts to form the shape of our cute duck. Apply glue to the required parts and paste them together, making sure each piece is properly aligned. Press the pieces gently so they stick firmly and create a neat, well-shaped design.

Allow the glue to dry completely before moving on to the next step. This will give our duck a proper shape and prepare it for the remaining details of the spectacles holder.

Making and Attaching the Duck’s Beak

Take a thin strip of cardboard and carefully roll it into a small cylindrical shape. Secure the roll firmly with tape so that it maintains its shape and does not unroll. Adjust the size of the roll according to the required design.

Next, take the prepared nose (beak) cutout and apply glue to the rolled cardboard piece. Carefully paste it onto the back of the beak cutout, making sure it is attached securely. Allow the glue to dry completely. This rolled cardboard piece will help give the beak the required depth and make it stand out from the duck’s face.

Take the prepared beak cutout with the rolled cardboard piece attached to its back. Apply glue to the rolled part and carefully paste the beak onto the duck’s face in the correct position. Make sure it is properly aligned and looks neat.

Press the beak gently to ensure it sticks firmly to the duck’s face. Allow the glue to dry completely before handling the piece further. This step adds a three-dimensional effect to the duck’s face, making our cute spectacles holder look more attractive and adorable.

Attaching the Stand to the Base

To make our cute duck spectacles holder stand upright, take a small triangular piece of cardboard to use as a support. Place it on the back of the duck and secure it firmly with tape. Make sure the triangle is positioned properly to provide enough support and keep the duck balanced.

Next, apply glue to the bottom edge of the triangular support and carefully attach it to the cardboard base. Press it gently to ensure that it sticks properly. Allow the glue to dry completely before testing the stability of the holder. This stand will help our cute duck remain upright and make it ready to hold spectacles.
