What is it?
This is a very simple motor design that illustrates the right hand rule and the interaction between magnetic fields and flowing electric current. This interaction creates an effect where two sides of a rectangle of wire are pushed in opposite directions, thus making the rectangle spin. To learn more about the theory watch the video above.
Components:
3-6 Small circular neodymium magnets
1 AA Battery
1.5 meters 0.5mm laminated copper wire
2 50mm paper clips
50cm of insulation tape
1 Coin or button for stabilization
Sand paper
Tools:
Scissors
Wire cutters

Step 1: Wrap wire around a rectangular object
Step 2: Tie of the ends in a way that wires are sticking out the sides as an axis for the coil to spin on
Step 3: Strip the ends of the wires (ONE FACE ONLY)
