Want a super affordable and portable guitar practice rig? This project shows you how to turn a basic Bluetooth speaker into a mini guitar amp using a Line 6 Pocket POD. You can even add backing tracks via wired or Bluetooth input.

Supplies

Required:

  1. 3.5mm (1/8”) Headphone Splitter
  2. USB to 3.5mm Audio Adapter
  3. Bluetooth Speaker (with AUX input)

Optional:

  1. Bluetooth Audio Receiver (for wireless backing tracks)
  2. Power Bank (for portable power)

Understand the Signal Flow

The idea is simple:

Guitar β†’ Pocket POD β†’ Splitter β†’ Speaker

The Pocket POD acts as your amp + effects, while the Bluetooth speaker becomes your β€œcabinet.”

Connect Your Guitar

  1. Plug your guitar into the input of the Pocket POD
  2. Select your preferred tone (clean, drive, ambient, etc.)

Connect to the Speakers

  1. Plug the headphone output of the Pocket POD into the headphone splitter
  2. Connect one end of the splitter to your Bluetooth speaker’s AUX input
