Now present yourself that the drainage of rain (from the roof) is organized in such a way that connects with the drainage from the boiler room (the condensate and other water) .. Imagine .?

The architects and engineers of this construction did not consider the projection that the different high floor levels on a roof and deep floor level on a boiler house would cause water to accumulate in the boiler house, when strong rain starts (two or three times in the year) ..

A standard solution could be to install a check valve on the drain pipe, but this would require expensive repairs, and the check valve itself on the drain pipe is quite expensive.

It should be noted that after the start of the war, only a few people lived in the house, and it is quite difficult to carry out expensive repair work .. For this reason, a rather non-standard solution was found: а conventional water valve (high-pressure valve) was taken as a basis and improved in such a way as to operate at low water pressure ..

To do this, I used the high-pressure valve itself, a float, and a ball from the bearing..

I cut off part of the valve on one side to install the ball as a counterweight and prepared the valve to install the float on the other side of the valve .. Also, I loosened the valve spring enough so that the ball, with its weight, opens the valve for water drainage from the boiler room ..

I selected the float in such a way that it closes the valve on the other side when the pipe is filled with water ..

For the installation of all elements on the valve, a two-component epoxy adhesive was used ..

Before installation, I checked the performance of the valve using a bucket of water ~ the float closed the valve on one side, and in the free position, the ball created enough pressure for the water to drain ..

Everything was done back in April, and during that time, there were two thunderstorms with strong rain, so everything works flawlessly .!
