DIY Pepper Spray

Have you always wanted to make pepper spray?

I dont know about you, but I have. After convincing myself it would be too expensive, I figured out how to make pepper spray for FREE. Thats right, this projects is absolutely free to make using household materials.

THIS PEPPER SPRAY WORKS

My eyes were burning and it felt like someone turned the heat on my face up a few 100 degrees

Be safe while using this product

With this pepper spray you can

  1. Deter an attacker
  2. Prevent an animal attack
  3. make animals stop eating your plants

And much more! Of course, I'm not responsible for any actions you make regarding this project, so be safe!

Lets make some Pepper Spray!

Materials

You will need

  1. Isopropyl rubbing alcohol

  2. Oil (plain cooking oil)

3. Two small containers

4. One spray bottle

5. Ground Cayenne Pepper (Or grind your own)

6. Coffee filter

Thats all you need! I had these around my house, it was FREE!

Pour in Pepper

Open the cap and pour a heaping amount! No exact size, but roughly half a cup.

I just eyeballed it and made a pile.

Rubbing Alcohol

Next take your rubbing alcohol and pour it into your plastic container. Add up to about 1 cm above the pile of ground pepper

Mix It Up!

Keep Mixing.png

Get a plastic spoon and start mixing! Stir it for about 2 minutes to really mix it in.

Now let it soak. I waited only an hour because I got pretty tired of waiting

To really make this extremely strong let it sit overnight or even better, a whole day!

Add Oil

Now get your cooking oil and add just a little bit. About 1-2 tablespoons. I severly messed up and added way too much oil. Oh well. It will still work fine.

Mix It Up Pt. 2!

Start mixing again! Mix for again about a minute or two.

Filter the Mix

Place a coffe filter over the top of a cup

No pour the mix over the filter and wait till all the "Juice" seeps through

You now have very fine/pure pepper spray

Just smelling the mix caused my eyes to water! It works!

Put Mix in Bottle

Now get your spray bottle and pour your mix in! You can now spray your pepper spray!

You now have fully functioning pepper spray! This stuff really works!

You can use it to deter attackers

Prevent animals from eating your plants

Scare off animals
