DIY Portable 2 in 1 Soldering Iron and Power Supply Station
This project is a DIY portable 2-in-1 soldering iron and adjustable power supply station designed to provide makers, electronics enthusiasts, and repair technicians with a versatile all-in-one solution for both workshop and mobile applications. By integrating a soldering iron and regulated power supply into a single compact enclosure, this build offers convenience, portability, and functionality without sacrificing performance.
The station is especially useful for field repairs, small electronics workbenches, educational environments, or anyone looking to reduce workspace clutter while maintaining essential electronics tools in one organized system. Its compact design makes transportation easy, while the modular construction allows for customization and upgrades based on individual needs.
Designed with accessibility and practicality in mind, this project combines commonly available components, straightforward assembly, and efficient design principles to create a powerful portable workstation. Whether you are building, repairing, prototyping, or experimenting with electronics, this project provides a reliable and efficient toolset in a single portable package.

Wiring Diagram
Indicator LEDs Modification
🔧 Indicator LEDs Modification
Both the buck (step-down) and boost (step-up) converter modules include onboard status LEDs.
These LEDs should be:
Extended using thin wires Repositioned to the front panel of the 3D-printed enclosure Used as external status indicators for system operation
This allows real-time visual feedback without opening the device.
Important Correction
⚠️ Important Correction – BMS and Fuse Not Visible in Diagram
The current wiring diagram does not visually include two critical safety components: the 6S BMS (Battery Management System) and the inline fuse. These components are still part of the real hardware design and must be included in the physical build.
🔋 Battery Protection (6S BMS)
The 6S BMS is connected directly to the 18650 battery pack and is responsible for:
Overcharge protection Over-discharge protection Short circuit protection Cell balancing
🔥 Fuse Protection
An inline fuse (recommended 10–20A) must be placed on the positive line after the BMS output. Its purpose is to:
Protect the system from short circuits Prevent damage to components in case of failure Act as a final safety layer before power distribution
