In this video I’ll be showing you how to make your own tabletop tiki toss game with an optional shot ladder. This is a super fun game to play with your family or friends. The best part is that you can make it yourself and save money.

This game goes by many names: tabletop tiki toss, hooks and rings, double ring toss, bimini ring toss and many more.

Woodworking projects are always fun, but even more fun when you end up with a ring toss game when you're done.

Shot Ladder

Here are all the basic dimensions for all the pieces:

Base: 2-1x6 cut to 12"

Top: 1x3 cut to 15 1/2"

Dowel: 1 1/2" dowel cut to 12 1/2"

Shot ladder: 1x4 cut to 12"

Game Piece: 1 1/2" dowel cut to 3-4"

Rings: 1" ID 1 1/4" OD

Cut two pieces of 1x6 to 12". Then Bore a 1 1/2" hole directly in the center of one board using a forstner bit. Glue and clamp the boards together. You can add a round over or bevel to the edge if you like for cosmetics.

Cut a 1x3 to 15 1/2". Then predrill small holes directly in the center and 1" from both ends on center. Reference the diagram in the design step. Then use your 1 1/2" forstner bit to bore a blind hole directly in the center about halfway through the board. You can add a round over or bevel for cosmetics if you like.

Cut the 1 1/2" dowel to 12 1/2". Then drill a small hole all the way through 4 1/4" from one end.

If you would like to have the shot ladder, cut 1x4 to 12". Then drill 5 1 1/2" holes with the center of the holes 2" apart and around 1/8" deep. You can add a round over or bevel if you like.

The game piece is just a 3-4" piece of the 1 1/2" dowel with bevels on both ends.

Sand all pieces before assembling. Assemble the hooks into the predrilled holes on the dowel and then glue and screw the dowel to the base making sure the hooks are properly aligned with the base.

Next, glue and screw the top to the dowel, again, making sure it's properly aligned with the base.

Now thread the eyes into the predrilled holes in the top.

Finally, tie the string to the rings and the other end of the string to the eye. Use a double knot so they don't come loose. Be sure to test to make sure the rings can go over the hooks with very little extra slack in the string.
