This project was made as a school project.
The goal was to create an alternative controller inspired by birds using 2 keyboards as our base.
We decided to go for an Egyptian aesthetic.
Supplies
- Cardboard
- Hot glue gun
- Fake feathers
- polystyrene
- A pen and / or a marker
- Paints (gold, orange and blue)
- Threads
- A cardboard box
- 2 keyboard
- 4 thin wooden sticks ot pens
- 3D printed decoration (optionnal)
- Scissors and / or a cutter
Cut the Cardboard in a Wing-like Shape





Draw a wing shape into a large enough cardboards.
Then cut it using a pair of scissors or a cutter
Draw on and Paint the Wings



First using a pen or a marker, draw the outlines for the wing pattern.
Then paint it.
Start 3D Printing the Decoration (optionnal)





If you happen to have access to a 3D printer, you can start printing decorations like egyptian obelisks and pharao's representations.
Glue the Feathers on the Wings



Using your glue gun, spread glue on the lower part of the wings and then plance and arrange the feathers.
Carve and Clue the Wings Handle Out of Cardboard

Using small cardboard pieces, carve a pair of handles for each wings.
Then glue them to the wings with liguid glue.
Slide the 2 Keyboards Through a Box AndMake Holes in the Box for the Strings

Pierce tiny holes in your box to make sure the strings connected to the wings can go through.
Cut the Thread


Each wing will have a thread connected to their handles.
the shorter one near the elbow's handles.
the longer one on the wrist's handles.
Place 2 Sticks With Polystyrene Per Keyboard and Attach Them to the Wing's Handle by Going Through the Box's Holes




This instalation will be the way our arms will be able to press inputs while we flaps our wings.
make sure the button prompt is functionnal.
Paint the 3D Printed Decorations


Paint them in gold to make them stand out.
