Fresh fig salad with a citrus honey vinaigrette and a surprise ingredient—TajĂn seasoning—that adds the perfect sweet, tangy kick.
Healthy and easy to make, with several variations or substitutions. This vegetarian Mediterranean dish can be served as a side dish or a main, offering healthy fats and protein.
Supplies
SALAD INGREDIENTS:
-fresh figs (quartered)
-fresh spinach
-pecans (halved— plain or candied)
-blue cheese (crumbled)
-avocado (diced)
*optional: substitute dried dates for fresh figs, or crumbled feta / goat cheese for blue cheese*
DRESSING:
-1 part extra virgin olive oil
-1 part balsamic vinaigrette
-lemon juice
-honey
-Tajin seasoning
Prepare Salad Prep & Combine
Prepare salad ingredients by chopping as needed. Combine salad ingredients into bowl.
Blend Dressing Ingredients Together
In a separate bowl, mix dressing ingredients together using a whisk or immersion blender until smooth. (Warming the honey slightly can help create a more even consistency).
Adjust lemon juice, honey and Tajin seasoning according to taste preference.
Combine Salad & Dressing
When ready to serve, drizzle salad dressing over salad and enjoy!
