Farmhouse Style 3d Wall Art

Create a touch of rustic charm for your home with this handmade 5x7 wall art piece, crafted entirely from natural, upcycled materials—burlap, denim, jute twine, and macramé string. This tutorial will guide you step-by-step in making this textured, dimensional design featuring burlap grape leaves and twine-wrapped grapes, all mounted on a sturdy denim canvas. Perfect for autumn décor, farmhouse-style homes, or anyone who appreciates earthy, handmade accents, this project is beginner-friendly, budget-conscious, and a wonderful way to repurpose fabric scraps into something beautiful.

What you'll need:

1. Used or thrifted pair of Jeans*
2. Burlap*
3. 5x7 canvas
4. roll of toilet paper
5. roll of jute twine- 3mm
6. roll of white macrame cord- 3mm
7. hot glue gun (high temp is best for fabric)
8. Scissors
9. pliers
10. ruler
11. pen or sharpie
12. floral wire

*Any fabric works for this! Have a look through your local thrift shop or craft outlet :)

1. Place canvas on fabric and measure a ruler width away from the canvas, and draw all the way around with a pen
2. Cut out the fabric
3. Hot glue the sides and back of the canvas, and glue down the fabric
4. Snip the corners with scissors, and reinforce corners with hot glue for seamless look

1. roll some toilet paper into the shape of a grape
2. Twist jute rope into a small circle, and hot glue it to the top of the grape
3. Using hot glue as needed, wind the rope all the way around the grape.
4. Apply hot glue in spiral pattern around grape, and fix macrame cord on it.
5. Repeat 6 times (or however many grapes you want!)

1. sketch the desired leaf shape (sharpie works best on burlap)
2. apply hot glue on sketched lines, and glue down macrame cord
3. cut out leaf
4. repeat x3

1. Simply twist floral wire (or any wire) into curls. Needlenosed pliers work well for this.

1. cut a 6inch length of jute twine, fold in half and hot glue together
2. Using your roll of jute twine, wrap around the folded piece for about 1 inch
3. You will end up with a "stem" with three twigs out the bottom

1. Place all items you have made on the canvas. Do not glue anything down until you are happy with the appearance.
2. Then glue down all the elements
3. glue each twig of the stem to a leaf (you may have to trim them to the desired length)
4. Glue a white border around the edge of the canvas

And....you're done!
