I found this desk organizer at a yard sale for 25 cents!  Because I needed more shelfs in my room I decided to turn it into a hanging basket by covering it with fabric.  This is a super simple and cheap project that will look great on your wall.

You can put magazines, flowers, and other items in this hanging basket.  Great DIY wedding project for flower arrangements and to help organize school items.

Materials

Here is a before shot of the desk organizer when I used it to separate books and papers on my desk.

The materials you will need to transform this desk organizer are:
1. Desk Organizer
2. Fabric
3. Hot Glue Gun
4. Scissors
5. Sewing Machine
6. Picture Frame Mounting  Hooks and Nails

Preparing Fabric

Using a pen, trace the sides of the desk organizer onto the fabric.

Cut out the fabric pieces but leave 1-2 cm on the edge so you can fold it over so the edges of the fabric won't fray.

Fold the edges over and pin them down.  The crease of the fold should be on the pen lines you drew in.

Use your sewing machine to sew these edges down.

Glue Fabric to Basket

Once all the pieces are cut out and edges are sewn use your glue gun to attach fabric to basket!

Mount Basket on Wall

I used picture frame mounting hooks to attach the basket to the wall.  I put the hook end around the basket wire and I nailed the other end to the wall.  I used four of these to on top and two on bottom.

Your basket should be securely fastened.  Place contents in and you're good to go!
