This is a super simple way to achieve a gross looking flesh texture for your costumes and props!

Supplies

Mod Podge

Red Paint

Dark Eva Foam

Heat Gun

Water Color

Coat the EVA foam in a thick layer of Mod Podge. Hold a heat gun close to the surface until it starts to bubble and wrinkle. Do this until it’s dry to the touch.

Paint

Spread a thick layer of red acrylic paint across the surface. Use the heat gun to dry it until it bubbles and warps.

Repeat

Cover with another thick layer of mod podge and dry with heat gun again. You will do this until the mod podge bubbles and gets a yellow tint.

Finishing

At this point you are done! If you want added definition you can use water colors to add highlights and extra shadows. You can either add another layer of mod podge to seal or a spray on clear coat. You will be left with a flexible and durable finish due to the thick layer of mod podge.

Have fun!
