Flower Table Runner From Lei and Ribbon

Since we have had a longer and colder winter than usual in Atlanta, I wanted to send my daughter something cheerful to brighten up her dorm room. I sent her these table runners I made from Hawaiian leis and ribbons.

I used a sewing machine to attach the flowers to the ribbons, but you could hand sew or glue on the flowers. These ribbons also work well around a door. They are quick and inexpensive to make and would be great decorations for an Easter party or a girls' tea party.

Supplies

  • Leis
  • Ribbon
  • Thread

I cut a lei and removed the flower petals. The green ribbon I had was 6'8". Measure your table for the correct length.

Every 6" sew a flower to the ribbon. I used the free-motion feature of my sewing machine to attach the flowers with a free form circular pattern.
