Let it go, let it go…” – the magic of Disney’s Frozen has inspired fans around the world, and I wanted to bring a piece of that winter wonderland to life. For this fandom project, I created a Frozen Ice Castle Cake, complete with shimmering towers, glittering snowflakes, and beloved characters like Elsa and Olaf. This cake isn’t just a dessert—it’s a snowy fairytale centerpiece! It combines the charm of intricate paper decorations with the elegance of a beautifully frosted cake, making it a true showstopper for any Frozen fan.
Supplies
Sponge cake making supplies
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2–3 tbsp milk (optional, for softness)
- 2–3 tbsp butter or oil (optional, for moisture)
Cake frosting
- Whipped cream
- Edible colors and glitters
- Glitter sprayer
- Turn table
- Cake knife
- Spatula
Baking supplies
- 6 inch cake tin
- Butter paper
- Oven
Sponge Cake Making and Baking



- 1. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F)
- 2. Grease & line your cake tin
- 3. Beat 4 eggs + 1 cup sugar until thick & fluffy
- 4. Add 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 5. Fold in 1 cup sifted flour + 1 tsp baking powder gently
- 6. Add 2–3 tbsp warm milk & melted butter
- 7. Pour into tin, bake 25–30 mins (toothpick should come out clean)
- 8. Cool before slicing

- 1. Ensure Cake is Chilled
- 2. Apply Final Smooth Layer
- 3. Prepare for Ombré Effect
- 4. Apply Ombre Colors
- 5. Blend the Colors
- 6. Add Edible Glitter/Shimmer
- 7. Clean the Cake Board
- 8. Final Chill

1. Main Ice Castle Cake Topper:
- Features tall cone-shaped towers in shimmering icy blue.
- The shapes are drawn, cut and assembled to create 2D castle.
- Accents of glitter snow along the edges for a frosty effect.
2. Frozen Character Cutouts:
- Includes Elsa, and Olaf printed in vibrant colors.
- Sturdy stand base so they can be placed easily around the cake or display.
3. Snowflake Ornaments:
- Handmade paper-cutouts of snowflake
4. Castle Entrance:
- Drawn the entrance on a sunboard & been cut out.
4. Castle Towers:
- Cylindrical body and conical heads being made, glued and assembled.
Note - All the toppers are affixed with skewers from behind, so that the skewers can be inserted in the cake.
