GUITAR -PHONE HOLDER HACK
Most musicians save their sheet music to a pdf so it can be accessed on their computer, tablet or phone. While convenient, it is sometimes difficult to see the phone screen from a distance. This hack puts your phone and music in handy proximity no further than the headstock of your guitar. Easy to see your music and scroll through it.
Supplies
You'll need a phone holder, the kind with a clamp for a table top and one that swivels your phone. I paid $3.50 for mine at a $ store. 5 minute epoxy and a hacksaw are required and maybe a pair of pliers.
MAKE THE MODIFICATIONS
Disassemble the phone swivel mechanism.
Pull off the Ball at the end of the support. (You may need pliers.)
Cut the support to just a few inches above the bottom clamp.
Mix the epoxy and glue the ball to the remaining support.
When dry, reassemble the phone holder mechanism. Tighten to the tension required. You should have full 360 degree movement.
ATTACH TO GUITAR
Clamp the device to the headstock of your guitar. Attach your phone in the orientation you prefer. Open your music pdf and enjoy seeing your songs up close as you play them.
