My wife wanted flowers for Mothers Day so I created   a sunflower and a black eyed Susan from old rusty wrenches and a couple of other discarded tools.

My welding skills are not so good but good enough for these type projects.

The steps
1. gather a pile of rusty tools that I have found from garage sales.  I rescued them from the garbage at that time with the idea that I would find a use for them at some point.  Well that time has come so I guess this kind of a green thing too.

2. use the grinder with a sander attachment to clean the rust from the wrenches especially important where the welds will be done.

3. Weld the pieces together

4. mask and paint

5. give to my wife as a mothers day gift.  Note: I bought jewelry too .  :)

6. She "planted" them in flower boxes on our deck.
