Girl Star Gazing

image.jpg

I made a girl looking at the stars in a galaxy. I made this art piece with watercolors because it feels relaxing to me and it looks beautiful in my opinion.

Supplies

You will need:

  1. Painters tape
  2. water color pallet (I got mine from dollar tree)
  3. water color paper
  4. glitter (optional)
  5. cup of water (to dip brushes in)
  6. something to mix paint on
  7. white paint
  8. sharpie
  9. napkins/paper towels
  10. patience
  11. Your imagination!!!

Tape It Down

first, you must tape your piece of paper down to a hard surface that you are OK dirty. You do the steps so that your paper doesn’t move around. Try to put some of the tape on the paper to make an outline.

Random Splotches of Paint

You will get the colors, blue, pink, purple and light blue and Start dabbing those colors in random places on your watercolor paper. Put these splotches anywhere on your paper. It’s up to you. You’re going to need to have spots that are darker than others and spots that are so light. It looks like there is almost nothing there.

Make It Darker

Continuously put the same colors over their original colors so that it will get darker. To this as much as desired and don’t forget to blend the colors together. It is OK if they touch or bleed into each other, galaxies aren’t separate colors. By now, you should start to see some of the galaxy coming together.

Smooth It Out

After the paint has dried wet, your brush and gently go over the paint to try to blend it some more. You do the steps so that all the colors can come together and look nice.

Embellishments

After that dries, then you will get a small paintbrush and put white paint on it. Then you will flick that paintbrush onto the paper to make it look like stars. If you want, you can draw your own stars. I have decided to draw a girl looking at the stars on mine, but you do not have to do that. That step is optional. As you’re putting these stars on, you can also put some glitter (preferably blue) on it to make it shiny.

Congratulations You Finished!!!

After the paint has dried and you’ve taken the tape off, your painting is finished and it should look like a galaxy. Remember not all paint is perfect and you might not get it first try but painting as where you can make mistakes and you can try again. I hope you had fun doing this. Have a good day!!!
