How to Crochet a Star and Star Bag

As I was rummaging through my closet to look for bags, I soon realized they were all the same shapes (rectangles, squares, etc). So, I thought to myself: Why not make a star-shaped bag?
I used a ball of yarn laying in my basket and decided to work through this pattern. As a result, this bag can be styled to your desired length and size to pair with your outfits! Whether it's for a friend, family member or you--it is perfect for a handmade crochet gift!
In this tutorial, I will be going through the step-by-step process of how to crochet a simple star and then explaining how to turn it into a star bag. I hope this can inspire and motivate you to crochet something and feel accomplished!

*Stitch markers are really useful to keep track of your starting and ending rows
3) Make 3 more double crochet into the same star point/stitch (image 4) (Count your stitches to make sure there are a total of 6 dc [3x dc, 3 ch, 3x dc] in the same stitch)
4) Repeat steps 2-3 a total of five times into each star point until you have 5-star points (image 5)
Finish Off

🧶l Round 3:
1) Repeat the same pattern as round 2, start with a ch3 (image 1)
2) Total of three dc in same stitch, ch3, three more dc in same stitch, total of 6 double crochets all around.

🌟l Keychain:
- You can crochet stars using a smaller sized hook and stuffing cotton inside to create a star keychain!
📌Tips:
- Bigger hook size and yarn = bigger star
- You can crochet one small star (purple part in image above) and one bigger star (pink part in image) and weave them together. The purple star above serves as a small extra pocket!
