Harry Potter Corner Bookmark: Paper
This is a Harry Potter Corner Bookmark. It's made of paper (notebook paper tbh), and it's literally the easiest origami (not sure if it counts) I've ever done. It's super cute, and this is actually my first corner Bookmark. I really love these corner bookmarks because instead of having a paper flap sticking out of your book, you can just look at the side and see the stripes or ears or whatever kind of corner Bookmark you decide to do. Let's start then!
Supplies
Okay, for this project, you'll need:
- Paper (Origami, Notebook, Printer, etc. as long as you can make it a square)
- A Pencil (for outlining)
- Scissors (To cut it out, durrr)
- Knowledge (on how to fold in the basics of a 4 year old)
- Sharpie or pen (for the final outlines and defined parts)
- Something to color with (crayons, markers, colored pencils, pens, etc.)
- Clear Tape (to keep it together)
For 6., you'll choose a certain color scheme depending on what House you choose.
Slytherin- Dark Green, Light Green (Can be swapped for gray)
Gryffindor- Dark Red (Could be maroon if wanted), Yellow/Gold
Ravenclaw- Blue (a bluish faint purple), gray
Hufflepuff- Yellow, Black (Can be swapped for gray)
Ok, now that you're prepared, we can actually start.
The Paper
Ok, so just get your notebook paper and do this layout. I'm using notebook paper. If you see a triangle or square scribbled out, do the same because we won't be needing those parts. Oh, and btw, if you're looking for measurements, I don't use any. I just guess and it turns out perfect.
Cutting Time!!!
Now, this is the only time you'll be using your scissors. Cut it out like the image above shows. It should look like that.
Folding
This step is easy, just fold the left triangle over the half of the square, then fold the right triangle over the left one.
Coloring
Now that you have folded everything, you gotta color before taping or you won't be able to color the whole thing. If you're using notebook paper, I recommend to make the stripes the notebook lines, if not, then just go with the flow. If you have colored origami paper, you can skip the step unless you want two colors somehow. I'll be doing Slytherin because that's my house (don't judge). You can outline whatever you would like.
Tape
Ok, so this is the second to last step. Get two reasonable sized pieces of clear tape. Tape the side of the folded triangles so they're together on the outside, and put the other piece of tape under them to tape the two triangles together from under. Tbh, just tape it where it seems reasonable.
You Finished!!!
This is your finally product, whether you did Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slyhterin, I hope you're Bookmark ends up working out and looking cute. This has been a fun process!
