Hearrings: Hearing Aid Earrings

Our DIY project called Hearrings is a combination of hearing aids and earrings. The idea is to make hearing aids more fashionable by hiding them inside stylish earrings. A lot of people don’t like how traditional hearing aids look, so we wanted to create something that works the same way but looks more like jewelry.
We’re using 3D printing to design and make the earring shells. These shells will hold the hearing aid parts and still let sound pass through. The goal is to make something functional, comfortable, and more fun to wear.
Supplies

- Hearing aid
- Gold biodegradable filament
- Gold chain
- 3D printer - Prusa Mini, Bambu Mini, etc.
Model the Hearing Aid

Create a 3D model in Fusion of your hearing aid that is to scale. We will add on an example shell to make the more hearing aid more fashionable next.
Create the Gold Cuff

Model a small gold cuff that will be able to be bent to shape to one's ear as a normal cuff earring would. Also, create a small hole in this cuff so you can attach a small gold chain to it.
Create the Gold Attachment Point

Model an additional cuff with a hole that will attach to the start of the wire of the hearing aid, this will act as the second attachment point for the gold chain.
Add the Gold Chain

Add a gold chain to the cuff link that will also attach to the upper bridge of the hearing aid. This will act as the second attachment point so the gold chain sits across your ear.
3D Print the Two Gold Cuffs

3D print both of the cuffs out of gold biodegradable filament, specifically TPU, as to make the cuff bendable to one's ear.
Assemble and Your Done

Assemble your Hearring by attaching the gold chain to the cuffs. Additionally attach the cuff for the hearing aid to the hearing aid and then the other one to one's ear. Now you have a Hearring!
