Heavy Duty Welding Table

These are plans for a heavy duty welding table
Supplies

- Metal Cutting Chop Saw or Horizontal Bandsaw
- 200 amp welder minimum (I used 0.045 solid wire)
- Squares, hammers, tape measure, grinders, and other metal fabrication hand tools
- Crane or forklift for flipping the table around (Optional)
- Proper PPE
Plan and Layout Materials

Layout Materials
Top: 4" x 0.5"x 40" flatbar slats (15 each)
Cross Members and Support: 2.5" x 0.625" C Channel (2 at 72.5" and 2 at 25")
Legs: Schedule 40 5" pipe 28.125" long (4 each)
Feet: 6" OD 1/4" plate (4 each)
Casters: Heavy duty steel casters 2 swivel and 2 swivel with brake
Make All Cuts

Made most of my cuts at once, stacking them into a horizontal gravity bandsaw.
Notched tube to accept rectangular tube.
Cut feet out of 6" x 1/4" Flat bar.
Tack All Parts

Tacked rectangular tube to pipe. Made two of these.
Tacked Feet onto Pipe.
Tacked slats on the ends and cross squared
Laid out slats and tacked with rachet strap holding cross square
Tacked bottom C-channel support
Welding

Weld settings are for 0.045" solid wire
Keep cool to prevent warping, avoid welding where warp can happen
Keep welds less than 3 inches where possible
Move around to distribute heat evenly
Wait to cool down if you have to
Finishing

Debur all sharp edges and knock off any spatter with a chisel
