- Mom, if you have no work in progress (!!), I would like a helmet hat !”
- Did you find a pattern on the web ?
- You need a pattern ? Even if I tell you exactly what I want ?
- ….!!

I need to clarify : I have never made crochetwork, except amigurumis !
(so with this tuto anyone can achieve it...).

Supplies :
- 2 light grey yarn balls (50 gr – 133 m – 3-6 US needles)
- 1 red yarn ball (50 gr – 133 m – 3-6 US needles)
- some dark grey yarn leftovers.

So, let start by the hat, it should be the most easier part…
Take the light grey yarn.

10 double crochet (Dc) in a magic ring (10 treble crochet if you are UK…) (10)
Rnd 1 : 2 Dc in each stitch (20)
Rnd 2 : *1 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (30)
Rnd 3 : *2 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (40)
Rnd 4 : *3 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (50)
Rnd 5 : *4 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (60)
Rnd 6 : *5 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (70)
Rnd 7 : *6 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (80)
Rnd 8 : *7 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (90)
Rnd 9 : *8 Dc – 2 Dc in the next sticth* (100)
Rnds 10 à 23 : 1 Dc in each stitch (100)
From now on, turn your work at the end of the row
Rnds 24 à 33 : 60 Dc

Fold the hat in two and pick up 44 stitches on each side of the fold.
(still in the light grey yarn)

Rnds 1 à 4 : 1 Dc in each stitch
Rnd 5 : 1 Dc in each stitch (red)

Cut 230 strands about 17 cm in the red yarn.

Fold 3 strands in two. Slip the loop in both sides stitch.

Tie by slipping ends in the loop. Tie 3 other strands in the same stitch but slippling the loop in the opposite direction.

Take a strand to make a loop and crochet 10 Dc in this loop (light grey)

The visor is symmetrical along the vertical axis but it’s not symmetrical along the horizontal axis (“I want the visor to cover my chin to prevent breeze“).

For more comfort, I sew a piece of mesh inside the visor.

A sewed button to fix the visor on the left side. On the right side I sewed scratch to fix it without problem while wearing sunglasses or ski mask.

Et voilà!

I want to tan” or “it’s freezing”, he doesn't go unnoticed on ski run !

Warning : it’s my first crochet work !!
I did an empirical approach, thinking I was Penelope (⇒ often starting over !)
You may adapt my pattern…
