Hologram Wristwatch
I built a holographic watch for under $20. I got the idea after seeing these hologram fan clocks on Amazon and I thought how cool it would be to make a watch out of it, so I bought a few and here's how I made a watch out of them. They work by spinning LEDs really fast and programing them to turn on at very specific times to create the illusion of a floating picture, in this case a clock.
The pictures are a bit blurry because my camera couldn't keep up with the fan speed.

First, I disassembled the clock and figured out what I was working with, I then removed the circuits and cut of the USB cord.
I then realized the circuit board was too bulky, so I had to cut down the size by re-soldering some of the components. I then made a little body for it out of an old board game piece and added a 9volt lithium battery so it's self-sustaining and rechargeable. I then covered the bottom with anti-static foam to protect the electronics. I also had to modify the fan head to be more compact and less noisy.
With all the hardware put together and working, I next focused on aesthetics; I decided to use black leather since it's comfortable, easy to work with, and doesn't look too bad. I measured and cut it to fit my wrist; I then used some of these little metal things (I don't know what they're called) to hold it together. And there we go! A Holographic Watch.
