Mix Filler for Checkers
take about 2 cups of clean sand and a 1/2 cup of white glue to make a mud like mixture to fill all 24 caps. Fill caps level with mix and top with felt circles and allow to dry at least overnight
Cut a Board
you could easily use a store bought board at this point
I found a piece of scrap plywood appx 16" x 16"
I put 2 coats of primer and two coats of the lighter color paint on board
divide your board equally into 8 rows and columns
In my example I used 1.5"x 1.5 " squares then (i used a permanent orange marker) color or paint every other square the darker color.finish with 2 coats of polyurethane
