How to Make Nutella At Home | AMAZING Homemade Hazelnut Spread

In this Instructable, I will show you how to make a homemade hazelnut spread like Nutella! It is so good and simple to make. BUT it isn't necessarily cheaper to make at home, because hazelnuts can be very expensive.

Don't forget to follow me and check out my other Instructables

Follow the simple steps below, watch the short video tutorial, or do both!

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups of hazelnuts (350g) - (I buy these ones)
  2. 1/4 tsp of vanilla powder (1g)

  4. 2/3 cup of powdered sugar (80g)
  5. 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of salt (1g)
  6. 2 Tbsp of milk powder, optional (14 to 28g)

If you buy hazelnuts that are not pre-roasted and have the shells on them, then you should roast them first. Put them on a sheet pan in a single layer and then in the oven at 375F/190C for 7 to 8 minutes.

Then take them out and let them cool; place them in a kitchen towel and rub them around, which will remove the shells.

If you buy already shelled and roasted hazelnuts, skip this step.

Grind Those Hazelnuts

Next, throw all the hazelnuts into your blender or food processor and blend until you get a nice paste. The more you blend, the smoother it will be; try to get it as smooth as possible.

Add 1 tsp to 1 tbsp of oil depending on how runny you want it; the added oil will also help to smooth it out, but it isn't necessary and is optional.

Add the Rest of the Ingredients

Now add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. The Nutella will be done. Depending on how much oil you added, it may be fairly runny. It will thicken up some in the fridge too. I like my homemade Nutella a little on the runny side, but if you like yours really thick, don't add too much oil. Use only like 1 tsp.

Pour Chill Serve

Now, pour/scrape the homemade Nutella into a container. If it is a bit on the runny side, especially because the blender got warm, then chill the Nutella in the fridge for a few hours; that will thicken it up.

Enjoy!
