How to Make a Ford Belt Buckle!

When the brand logo falls off of your vehicle what should you do with it? Should you glue it back on, or make something awesome? The answer is obvious, and I chose to make a belt buckle out of mine. This large, cowboy-style buckle is perfect for practically anyone! I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and hope you end up making your very own belt buckle!

Note: This is not limited to Ford logos only. I only used a Ford logo because it was what I had.

1. A Vehicle Logo (I used Ford)
2. Hot Glue w/ Hot Glue Gun
3. A Metal Hanger
4. Wire Cutters
5. Two Sets of Pliers
6. A Belt w/ The Ability to Change Buckles

Your logo should have two "prongs" on the back of it, similar to the one shown. Clip off the prong that is behind the "d" in "Ford", so that it is flush with the rest of the back.

Note: Not all logos will have these "prongs". You can make do by gluing a small wooden peg on the left back side of your buckle.

Using your pliers, bend a piece of hanger wire into a rectangle. The rectangle should fit on your belt, as shown. Attach your belt to the rectangle, also as shown.

Most buckles are made with a hinge, but I used hot glue instead. The purpose of this compromise was for the sake of time, project difficulty, and long, obnoxious, unneeded steps. Glue the wire to the buckle, as shown. Make sure the edges of the rectangle do not stick past the edge of the logo. Wait for the glue to dry, and apply a second, reinforcing coat.
