How to Make the Stratoceptor Paper Airplane

Fast, long range, simple and lightweight, the Stratoceptor is a quick, compact paper airplane. The Stratoceptor is a great choice as a fighter-interceptor, "classroom cruiser" or backyard buccaneer. Those who have enjoyed the performance of the Destroyer Dart and Falcon should also enjoy this model, as its a similar, albeit smaller and even more maneuverable.

Fold the paper along its length. Then fold it in half again, to result in fourths. Then open the paper. You should have a paper divided into four.

Fold your paper back up in half along its length. Then pull the paper down so the crease stretches from the front to the center length crease and to the center width fold. Once you've done this one both sides, open and then layer the two sheets. Once this is done pull the tip of the nose backwards, until it reaches the center width fold. When this is completed, tuck the sharp overhang under the airfoil folds as shown. This will make the security fold.

To cut away the excess paper, start by folding the trailing edge to the center width fold. Once you've made this fold, fold the airplane up in half along its length. Then cut along the crease you've just made. You can discard the paper you've just cut away.

Pull the wings of the Stratoceptor down so that the swept leading edges touch the bottom of the fuselage. Then tape it at its front and back. The application of the tape will complete the aircraft.

Like other small interceptor paper airplanes, flight is very simple for the Stratoceptor. A moderately fast throw at an angle of between 20 degrees negative or positive attitude delivers the fastest flights with the best range. Enjoy!
