Gather Your Supplies
Gather your supplies. Before you start the water in the bathtub, brush the dog from neck to tail to get any knots out. This helps because knots get harder to get out when they are wet.
Check the Water Temperature
Check the water temperature. Put your hand in the running water to make sure it is warm, but not too hot or too cold.
Put the Dog in the Bathtub or Sink
Once the water is ready, put the dog in the bathtub or sink. If they are nervous or don't like baths, give them a treat to keep calm.
Wet the Fur
Slowly put water on the dog to help it adjust. Wet the fur thoroughly, but be careful to avoid getting water in its snout and eyes.
Apply the Lavender & Rosemary Skin Relief Shampoo
Apply the Lavender & Rosemary Skin Relief shampoo to the dog. Rub it into the fur on the back and neck. Be very careful washing the head so that soap does not run into the dog's eyes.
Rinse the Dog Off Completely
Rinse the dog off completely. Wrap them in a towel and rub dry them until they are semi-dry (about 80%). When finished drying, put them in a warm spot, like near a fireplace. Give them a final treat as a reward.
