How to Calculate Pi

Supplies

Tooth Picks or Matches.

A BIG sheet or roll of paper.

And a pen or pencil.

Buffon's Needle.

Buffon's Needle.

So first, you need to get two of whatever you have. I am using toothpicks. And get your big sheet or roll of paper and get two of those and line them up and measure how long that is and draw a line. And then do that a bunch of times with however many you like. I did four, but you can really do more if you want to.

That might give you more precise answers. And then randomly start dropping your toothpicks or matches or needles or whatever you're using onto that sheet of paper. First, count how many you did drop. Mine was 50. And then see how many crossed the lines or were touching the lines.

And then you divide the number of how many things you dropped on it and the number that crossed the lines, and you should get pi or something very close to it.

Circumference and Diameter

Now how to measure pie using the circumference and diameter of a circle. So get a very almost perfect circle and use a string and loop it around the circumference of it And then measure that and then measure the diameter using the string also and see how long that is. And then divide the the circumference or the diameter, and you should get something very close to pi. I got 3.241.
