Over time the TV remote from hours of use will get dirty and so will the contacts inside making the remote unresponsive and fidgety to use.

First remove the batteries, then find the screws, most remotes try to hide them so you won't open the remote they could be under a sticker, a button , or deep into the remote. Some don't have screws and just clamp together. My remote had two screws that can be easily seen and others hidden under a plastic cover.

Rubbing Down Circuit Board

Remove the rubber keypad which reveals the circuit board wipe the contacts all with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol also clean the clear plastic piece where the I.R blaster sits behind.

Cleaning Rubber Key Pad

I would recommend rinsing the pad in warm water and then drying with hair dryer the clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol and cue tip.
